I’m a CrossFit Level 2 certified trainer.
Background?My athletic background includes softball, volleyball, 10 years of ballet, 7 years Taekwondo, Jujitsu, and Kempo. I love the study of how the human body moves. Efficiency and technique fascinate me.
Why crossfit?I started CF after a friend told me that she had found the perfect workout for me. I was 38 years old, battling Hashimoto’s, depression, and Dr’s were telling me that I would never be able to build any muscle, that my metabolism was so shot that I needed to eat literally half of what the average woman should eat. My momma didn’t raise a quitter so I fought back. I put on 20 pounds of muscle my first year. I found Paleo and then I discovered Zone when my body told me that it needed more food. I am a Crossfit addict. I am addicted to living a strong, healthy, smart life. I love learning new things and conquering challenges. There are challenges that come from being a masters athlete and I’m learning to love the process of working with a maturing body.
Favorite Movements: Dumbbell Snatch, Deadlift, and Burpees. My goal for this next year is a strict muscle up and a 300 pound deadlift. I love any workout that has 3 or more movements.
Why CrossFit West Salem?I began coaching in 2016 and I love helping people learn new things. Guiding members through conquering their challenges is intensely rewarding. Everything from that first box jump or push up to conquering the fear of being upside down. I love seeing people move better and the mental strength that comes from tackling the workouts day after day.
Fun Facts:I’ve been married for 23 years, I’m a Mom of 4 and an avid coffee drinker.
